The National Weather Service has confirmed that a weak tornado touched down late Monday night in parts of western Kentucky.

Where the Tornado Hit

The EF-0 tornado affected areas near Ashbyburg and Jewel City. These locations are in northern Hopkins County and western Webster County.

Storm Details

Preliminary survey results show:

  • Peak wind speeds reached about 85 mph
  • The tornado lasted from 11:56 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
  • It stayed on the ground for around 3 minutes
  • The path was just over 3 miles long
  • Width was about 50 yards

Damage Report

Officials reported:

  • Trees were uprooted or snapped
  • Many tree branches fell
  • Electrical transmission lines were damaged

No Injuries Reported

Thankfully, no injuries or deaths were reported from the storm.
