The National Weather Service has confirmed that a weak tornado touched down late Monday night in parts of western Kentucky.
Where the Tornado Hit
The EF-0 tornado affected areas near Ashbyburg and Jewel City. These locations are in northern Hopkins County and western Webster County.
Storm Details
Preliminary survey results show:
- Peak wind speeds reached about 85 mph
- The tornado lasted from 11:56 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
- It stayed on the ground for around 3 minutes
- The path was just over 3 miles long
- Width was about 50 yards
Damage Report
Officials reported:
- Trees were uprooted or snapped
- Many tree branches fell
- Electrical transmission lines were damaged
No Injuries Reported
Thankfully, no injuries or deaths were reported from the storm.
