Armed felon faces many charges after fleeing from deputies in Daviess County, Kentucky

A traffic stop in Daviess County turned into a police chase, leading to the arrest of two people on multiple serious charges.

Traffic Stop Turns Into Chase

According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, deputies tried to stop a red Nissan Altima after it ran a stop sign at West 5th Street and Cedar Street in Owensboro.

The car pulled into a parking lot and then into an alley. At that point, a passenger got out and ran.

Suspect Caught After Foot Chase

Police identified the passenger as Tyler Underwood, 21. After a short foot chase, deputies were able to catch and arrest him.

During the arrest, officers found:

  • A loaded AR-15-style pistol in his waistband
  • Suspected cocaine
  • A large amount of cash

Driver Also Arrested

The driver, Aynara Carbon, 18, was later arrested for fleeing and ignoring the stop sign.

Charges and Custody

Both suspects were taken to the Daviess County Detention Center.

Underwood is facing several charges, including:

  • Fleeing police
  • Drug trafficking
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Resisting arrest

Carbon also faces charges related to fleeing and traffic violations.
