A Crofton man is accused of assaulting his pregnant ex-girlfriend in Madisonville

A man was arrested early Friday morning on multiple charges after authorities say he attacked his pregnant ex-girlfriend in Madisonville.

Alleged Assault and Strangulation

Madisonville Police report that 27-year-old Lamontae Bass of Crofton drove to his ex-girlfriend’s home Friday night, despite not having a valid driver’s license. According to police, Bass struck the woman multiple times in the face, causing severe swelling and possible fractures.

The victim, who is 26 weeks pregnant, was also allegedly strangled by Bass to the point where she nearly lost consciousness.

Forced Entry and Continued Assault

When the woman attempted to retreat into her home for safety, Bass is accused of forcing his way inside and continuing the assault.

Charges and Detention

Bass was taken into custody and charged with:

  • First-degree burglary
  • First-degree strangulation
  • First-degree wanton endangerment
  • Fourth-degree assault
  • Operating a motor vehicle without a license

He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
