Firefighters had a busy start to the week as they responded to two separate house fires in the area. Both incidents happened on different days but required quick action from multiple emergency teams. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in either case, but some property damage did occur.
Fire Breaks Out on Sinking Creek Lane
Late on Tuesday afternoon, firefighters were called to a house on Sinking Creek Lane, located west of Irvington. The call came in just after 5 PM when a fire was reported in a single-storey home.
According to officials, the fire started on the porch and quickly spread to the attic. Firefighters reached the spot and began controlling the flames. Their fast response helped save a large part of the house.

- Around 75% of the house was saved
- Some personal belongings were damaged or destroyed
- The fire’s exact cause is still unknown
- No one was injured during the incident
Several emergency teams worked together to control the situation. Firefighters stayed at the scene until around 8:30 PM. However, they had to return again later at about 10:30 PM after receiving a report that the fire had started again.

Just a day before, on Monday afternoon, another house fire was reported in Cloverport. The call came shortly after 1 PM from the 500 block of West Street.
When firefighters arrived, they found a house already on fire. They quickly started working to control the flames and prevent further damage.
Fire Brought Under Control Quickly
Thanks to the quick response, the fire was controlled within about 90 minutes. This helped reduce the damage and stopped the fire from spreading to nearby areas.
