Breckinridge County Schools has announced a key leadership update, as Grayson County Schools Assistant Superintendent Adam Cox is set to take on the same role in Breckinridge County.

Adam Cox Accepts New Role

Adam Cox has officially accepted the position of Assistant Superintendent with Breckinridge County Schools. He will begin his new role on July 1, 2026.

Returning to His Roots

Cox is no stranger to the district. He started his career in education at Breckinridge County High School in 2009. Over the years, he served as assistant principal for six years before becoming principal in 2017.

Experience in Grayson County

In 2021, Cox was hired as Assistant Superintendent with Grayson County Schools and began his duties on July 1 that year. During his time there, he played an important role in the district’s leadership.

Family Connection to the District

Cox’s wife, Lacey Cox, also has a connection to Breckinridge County Schools. She was hired as Library Media Specialist at Breckinridge County High School in May 2025 after serving nearly four years as principal or interim principal at Grayson County High School.
