A house in Leitchfield was destroyed in a fire on Thursday night, but thankfully no one was injured.

Fire on King Road

The Leitchfield Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 300 block of King Road around 9:30 p.m. When firefighters arrived, the home, a vehicle, and a side-by-side were already on fire. Despite efforts to control it, the house was completely destroyed.

Cause of the Fire

Fire Chief Tim Duvall said the fire started when the side-by-side, parked near the garage, suddenly caught fire and the flames spread to the house.

No Injuries Reported

No injuries were reported. Firefighters stayed on the scene until around 2:00 a.m. Friday to make sure the fire was fully out.

Another Fire the Same Night

About an hour earlier, another major fire happened on Grayson Springs Road. A mobile home, garage, and three vehicles were also destroyed in that incident.
