A serious incident in Kentucky has led to the arrest of a man facing multiple charges, including kidnapping and assault.

Man Arrested in Kidnapping Case

Police say Shawn Asher, 37, is in custody after allegedly breaking into a woman’s home and waiting for her to return. When she arrived, an argument started, and he is accused of forcing her into the passenger seat of her own car and making her leave her phone behind before driving away.

Quick Police Response

Around 6 p.m., authorities received a tip about the vehicle and its direction. Officers from the Knox County Police Department and Barbourville Police Department located the car and conducted a traffic stop.

Asher was arrested without any resistance. The woman was found with minor injuries.

Previous Incident

Police also revealed that Asher had been arrested earlier on Christmas Day 2025. In that case, he was accused of spiking the same woman’s coffee with methamphetamine. He was later released on bond.
