A man in Knox County has been arrested after being accused of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend.

Incident Details

According to reports, William Collins, 30, allegedly attacked his girlfriend early Monday morning.

Authorities say she suffered serious bruising on her back, face, and legs after he reportedly struck her with a log.

Allegations Before the Assault

The victim told officials that Collins threw pieces of wood with nails into the road to stop her from leaving the area before the assault happened.

Arrest and Charges

Troopers from the Kentucky State Police arrested Collins later that evening at his father’s home.

He has been charged with:

  • Second-degree assault (domestic violence)
  • Second-degree unlawful imprisonment

Custody and Additional Charges

Collins is being held at the Knox County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on Thursday.

Officials also said he is facing additional charges of theft by deception linked to a separate copper theft investigation involving his father and another individual.
