Lawrence County had a strong comeback performance at the 2A Softball State Tournament, bouncing back after a close loss earlier in the day.
Lawrence County Defeats Clay County
At Jack C. Fisher Park, Lawrence County secured a 10-4 win over Clay County.
Brinley Baisden led the team from the circle, earning the win and recording six strikeouts.
Offensively, Lawrence County scored 10 runs on 12 hits. Key performances included:
- Emalynn Kitts: 3 hits, 4 RBIs, 2 home runs
- Lexi Crum: 3 hits, 1 RBI
- Jada Patton: 2 hits, 1 RBI
- Addalyn Woods: 1 hit, 2 RBIs

Earlier Loss to North Oldham
Before the win, Lawrence County fell 3-2 to North Oldham in the opening round.
Baisden pitched in relief and took the loss, while Braylee Triplett started the game. Together, they recorded three strikeouts.
Lawrence County managed two runs on five hits:
- Patton and Anna Compton each had an RBI
- Compton hit a double, and Patton recorded a triple
