Several arrests were made in Harlan County over the weekend, involving drug charges, assault, and traffic violations.
Multiple arrests by Kentucky State Police
Kentucky State Police Trooper Colby Amburgey arrested Marcus Saylor, 25, on Saturday morning.
He faces multiple charges, including:
- Public intoxication (controlled substance)
- First-degree possession of a controlled substance (second offence – methamphetamine)
- Drug paraphernalia possession
- Promoting contraband (first degree)
- Marijuana possession
- Failure to appear in court
He was taken to the Harlan County Detention Center, with a bond set at $100 cash.
Assault case reported
Another arrest was made involving Franklin Saylor, 28, of Harlan.
He was taken into custody by KSP Trooper Aaron Caldwell and charged with first-degree assault related to domestic violence. His bond is still pending.
Traffic violations case
Tony Taylor, 45, was arrested Friday night after a traffic stop by Trooper Amburgey.
He faces several charges, such as:
- Failure to appear
- Expired or missing registration
- No proof of insurance
- Driving on a suspended or revoked licence
He was also lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center, with bond details yet to be confirmed.
Additional drug-related arrest
In another case, Emilio Balso Hernandez, 23, was arrested by Harlan City Police Department officer Jecorey Fields.
He has been charged with:
- Two counts of contempt of court
- First-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
- Drug paraphernalia possession
He is also being held at the Harlan County Detention Center, and his bond status is pending.
