Police in Somerset arrested a man after a reported burglary at a hotel construction site over the weekend.

Burglary reported at hotel site

The Somerset Police Department responded to a call early Saturday morning at the Home2 Suites by Hilton construction site on Jefferson Drive.

A keyholder reported seeing a man going through drawers behind the front desk around 1 a.m. When officers arrived, the suspect was still inside the building.

Suspect tried to flee

Police said they quickly secured the area and saw the man running inside the building. He reportedly moved toward a back office and even asked officers if they were police before being taken into custody.

Items allegedly stolen

According to the arrest report, the suspect had taken:

  • Six packets of Tylenol
  • Six packets of Advil
  • Three razors
  • Shaving cream
  • A charger

The hotel representative confirmed that these items belonged to the property and no one was allowed inside since it is still under construction.

Charges and custody

Police identified the suspect as Terry Moore, 25. He has been charged with:

  • Third-degree burglary
  • Theft by unlawful taking

Authorities also said Moore was wanted for absconding from parole.

He is currently being held at the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.
