Middletown, CT — A 19-year-old former Wesleyan University student, Samuel Schumann, has been arrested on April 6, 2026, facing 31 counts of voyeurism. Schumann, also known as Samuel “VuVu” from Brooklyn, New York, surrendered to the police following a two-month search by detectives.
An arrest warrant for Schumann was issued on February 6, 2026, based on violations of Connecticut General Statutes. The charges stem from multiple incidents that took place between September and October 2025 within the dormitories of Wesleyan University, where Schumann was a student at the time.
Details of the Incident
The Middletown Police Special Investigations Unit conducted an in-depth investigation, which led to the identification of 19 female victims, most of whom were students at Wesleyan. These victims were secretly recorded while in campus bathrooms.
Upon learning of the incidents, university officials immediately contacted the police and cooperated fully with the investigation.
Arrest and Bail
Schumann was processed and released after posting a $100,000 surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 7, 2026, at 9 a.m.
