Michael Lopez, 45, is facing serious charges, including the murder of a police officer. During a recent court hearing, he lashed out at his attorney, leading to his removal from the courtroom.
Despite being warned earlier by the judge, Lopez continued his outburst when his lawyer did not object to evidence being presented. Court officials then escorted him out, and he will now follow the trial from a holding cell.

Details of the Incident
The case relates to the death of Mohamed Said, a 26-year-old officer.
According to Robert Kennaley, the incident happened on July 21, 2024. Officer Said was on patrol when he approached two individuals near a car wash. One of them, identified as Lopez, ran away.
When the officer caught up with him, a struggle followed. Police say Lopez then shot the officer during the confrontation.
Arrest and Court Developments
After the incident, Lopez fled the area on a bicycle. A large search operation was launched, and he was later arrested at a home in southwest Detroit after a tip from the public.
In court, Lopez also tried to fire his attorney, claiming he was not being properly defended. However, the judge denied his request.
