In Benbrook, 39-year-old Alberto Velasquez has been charged with manslaughter following the death of his wife, Lindsay Velasquez, who was 42.
According to the Benbrook Police Department, the incident happened on April 17 at the couple’s home, where they lived with their three children.
Details of the Incident
Police say the shooting took place around 7:30 p.m. and was initially reported as accidental.
When officers arrived:
- Lindsay Velasquez was found unconscious with a gunshot wound to the head
- She was rushed to the hospital
- She later died from her injuries
After investigating the situation, authorities arrested Alberto Velasquez at the scene.

Reports say both Lindsay and Alberto were employees of the Fort Worth Independent School District.
