A 36-year-old man from Waco, Texas, has been arrested after a disturbing case involving a young child who suffered severe burns. The accused, Bobby Fisher, is facing a charge of injury to a child following an incident that reportedly took place in November 2025.

What Police Say Happened
According to investigators, Fisher was looking after a toddler when the incident occurred. He allegedly left the child alone in a bathtub. During that time, the girl was exposed to scalding hot water, which caused serious burns.
Fisher later told police that the child may have turned on the hot water herself while he stepped away to get a diaper. However, he admitted that he left her unsupervised. When he returned, he reportedly saw steam coming from the water but did not immediately check the temperature or the child’s condition.
Delay in Medical Treatment
Police say Fisher did not take the child to the hospital after the burns happened. He also did not inform the child’s mother about the incident for several days. According to the arrest warrant, he admitted that he thought about seeking medical help but chose not to because he was afraid of getting into trouble.
The situation only came to light weeks later, on December 22, when the child complained of pain to another child in the house. This led to the mother discovering serious injuries described as red, raw, and bleeding wounds. She then took the child to a medical center for treatment.
Child’s Condition and Statement
Medical officials confirmed that the child suffered third-degree burns, which included significant skin damage. The injuries were serious and required urgent care.
During the investigation, the child reportedly told authorities that “Mr. Fisher hurt her” in the bathroom. This statement became an important part of the case.
