A disturbing domestic violence case from Indiana has come to light after a man allegedly attacked his pregnant partner during an argument over a video game. The incident has raised serious concerns about safety inside the home, especially with a child present during the assault.
Incident reported in Bedford, Indiana
The case took place in Bedford, where police responded to a welfare check call on April 22.
When officers arrived at the residence, they spoke with the victim, who is the mother of the suspect’s children. She explained that the situation turned violent after an argument began between the two.
Argument over video game led to violence
According to the affidavit, the argument started after Danny Wall had been drinking and was playing video games.
The victim reportedly became upset and unplugged the gaming console, which made Wall angry.
Police say Wall later admitted that:
- He became upset after the console was unplugged
- He punched and broke a television in the living room
- He then physically attacked the victim
Details of the alleged assault
Investigators stated that Wall allegedly:
- Slapped the victim
- Pulled her hair
- Struck her on the back of the head with an open hand
During the attack, the victim was holding their 5-month-old daughter in her arms. She is also reported to be around six weeks pregnant at the time of the incident.
Wall reportedly told police that he “should not have hit her” and admitted that he had been physically aggressive in the past as well.
Medical response and victim condition
Emergency medical services (EMS) evaluated the victim at the scene. However, she chose not to receive further treatment and signed a refusal form.
Despite this, the situation was treated seriously due to the nature of the injuries and the circumstances.
Child safety concerns raised
Because a minor was present during the incident, authorities contacted the Department of Child Services (DCS).
A formal case was opened to assess the safety and well-being of the child.
The victim also completed a Domestic Violence Lethality Screening and signed a domestic battery affidavit, which is part of the legal process in such cases.
Arrest and legal charges
Danny Wall was arrested and charged with:
- Domestic battery on a pregnant woman
- Domestic battery in the presence of a minor
He was taken to the Lawrence County Jail. According to records, he later posted bond and was released.
As part of his release conditions, he has been ordered not to have any contact with the victim.
Upcoming court hearings
Wall is scheduled to appear in court for:
- An initial hearing
- A follow-up court date on May 12
The case will proceed through the legal system as authorities review the evidence and testimonies. This case highlights the serious dangers of domestic violence, especially when it involves vulnerable individuals like pregnant women and young children.
What began as a small argument quickly turned into a violent situation with long-term consequences. The presence of a child during the incident makes it even more concerning.
Authorities have taken necessary steps, including involving child protection services and enforcing no-contact orders.
As the case moves forward in court, it serves as an important reminder about the need for anger management, support systems, and early intervention in domestic conflict situations to prevent such harmful outcomes.
