Jurickson Profar is the best free agent available. The Colorado Rockies need help in their outfield. A match would seemingly make sense.
That could be coming soon. According to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post, the Rockies are showing interest in Profar due to the injuries throughout their outfield.
Jurickson Profar could find home with Colorado Rockies
There is a definite need in the Rockies outfield. Randal Grichuk is injured once again and will have surgery on a bilateral sports hernia. Sean Bouchard has a ruptured biceps and may need season ending surgery. Any time the soon to be 37 year old Charlie Blackmon is being viewed as an option in the outfield should be enough to say that help is desperately needed.
Profar would be a perfect option to help solidify the Rockies’ outfield. He had posted a solid .243/.331/.391 batting line in his 658 plate appearances, hitting 15 homers and 36 doubles. While Profar was strictly a left fielder in 2022, he does have experience around the infield as well, something else that could be a need in Colorado.
At this point, it may just be a matter of making the money work. Profar is not going to get that payday one had to envision when free agency began, but he could still get a solid contract in Colorado. As the Rockies somehow seem to think they can contend in the NL West, or at least get to .500 this season, adding a bit more punch to the lineup with Profar would make sense.
The Colorado Rockies and Jurickson Profar look like a perfect match. That union could happen soon as long as the money is right.
